For February 16th a potential visit to a different food continent of the Americas is at the Mexican eaterie "Peppers" near the theatre in Ulm. For a group booking, they expect everyone to also order some food at least. I have attached the menu card, kindly supplied by Julia Marten, so that you can see what is on offer. Please let me know if people are interested so that I can get an idea of numbers for a potential reservation to be made by the beginning of February.

It's about a 10-minute walk from the Rathaus bus stop, crossing the Herdbrücke. The no. 5 bus takes you over the river to the Rathaus Neu-Ulm as the nearest stop. Of course, there is a bus to Neu-Ulm: the lines 84 and 88 to Burlafingen/Steinheim stopping at the Rathaus Neu-Ulm.

Ten places have been reserved under my name and Julia (thanks to her for organizing the booking)

 

Please let me know if you are coming in case I need to book extra seats.

Having returned from a rather subdued trip to the UK (got and recovered from omicron!!), I have organised the first Stammtisch of my presidency. From the feedback I did receive, the details to put in your diary/smart phone calendar are:

 

Drei Kannen on Thursday 27th October from 7 pm

 

I have reserved a generous 12 seats, so hopefully enough. It is booked under my name, although considering my surname, I suggested that they note it under "Robert" and "Englischer Stammtisch".

 

As previously stated, if anyone has suggestions for somewhere else to try in the future, please let me know.

After over 25 years of English Stammtisch, Heather and I are stepping down from our positions as your "president" and "vice-president".   (again??)

 

Our final meeting will be on August 10^th – starting at 6 p.m. this time, as meals are only served between 6 and 9 p.m.  Café closes at 10 p.m. (Gerry :-) )

Hello Everyone

After contacting a few of the Stammtisch members, we have decided it's better to wait until the new year to meet.

Hopefully the covid numbers will look better by then.  

I also have some sad news.  Some of you may have already read that Susanne Robinson passed away suddenly in October. We will miss the conversations with Sue and laughing together. Our sympathy goes out to David and his son.
