I apologize for sending out so many emails this month. But this time it's with good news: since we won't be playing softball on the same night as the Stammtisch, we don't have to go to Hundskomödie. Paddy and I have decided to go to the new Irish Pub in the city center instead (where Barfüsser used to be). There will also be live music upstairs later in the evening.

Hello everyone, 

 

There will several meetings in August. 

 

The first will be a softball game this coming Friday (August 3rd).

 

Sarah will have a Stammtisch again in Günzburg on Friday August 17th. 

 

The following week (August 24th), there will be a classic softball and Stammtisch double-header, with the restaurant part at the Hundskomödie.

 

Here is the detailed info:

 

Softball

Softball is similar to baseball. It involves throwing, catching and hitting a ball. Sporadic running over short distances is required.  All the equipment is provided (though feel free to bring your own) and players of all levels are welcome, including absolute beginners. If you're planning to come to softball, please RSPV so that I can inform you of whether we're playing in case of uncertain weather. Both August games will be in the Friedrichsau (https://www.google.com/maps/dir//48.4095822,10.0149873/@48.4099098,10.0132171,17z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e3) and will start at 6pm.

Here's the message from Sarah: 

This is a beautiful beer garden in the summer, with great Greek food. It's within easy and short (only 5-10 minutes) walking distance from the Günzburg train station, so if anyone decides to travel by train from Ulm - that would be no problem at all! This was a great success for the people who came here in July when we went there, so we thought we would just go to the same place again. Everyone enjoyed the food here, and loved sitting in the pretty beer garden 😊 I hope to see many of you there! Really looking forward to it! 😄👏🏻🙃👍🏻

Hello again everyone, 

 

Unfortunately, we won't be able to have the next softball game on the same night as the Stammtisch, due to a scheduling conflict. We will be playing on the day before instead, Thursday the 23rd, still in the Friedrichsau at 6pm. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope many of you can still make it. 

 

The Günzburg and Ulm Stammtisch are not affected by this and will happen as planned (see details below).

This is a beautiful beer garden in the summer, with great Greek food. It's within easy and short walking distance from the Günzburg train station, so if anyone decides to travel by train from Ulm - that would be no problem at all! I don't organise many Stammtisches anymore, due to being a busy full time mum now. But now it's summer, we've got the perfect opportunity for a lovely beer garden Stammtisch here in my now home town, in Günzburg! I am planning on bringing my young son along with me - at least for the start of this meet-up! So those of you who'd like to meet him, this would be a great chance for you! ;-) I hope to see many of you there! Really looking forward to it! :-D

Stay tuned for more info on the restaurant meetings of July, but in the meantime, we'll be playing softball again next week! 

 

Softball is similar to baseball. You do have to run a bit, but overall it is not very demanding physically. We really just play for fun, so feel free to come even if you have never played before. All the equipment is provided and of course, we explain the rules again each time.

 

We will be playing once again in the Wiley Park: https://goo.gl/maps/vYpBkhMsYEH2. We will start at 18:30.

 

Please let me know if you plan to come so that I can send you updates in case of incertain weather.

Our next meeting will be on June 22nd, a Friday, as usual. We will be going to Teutonia, in the Friedrichsau.

We will be playing again in the Wiley Park, which is the same location as last time and NOT the Friedrichsau (still under construction). Let's meet again at 17:30 to get a couple of hours of playing time.  As always, beginners are welcome, and experienced players as well, of course.
