How are you? I hope you're all well and enjoying the summer so far. I'm so sorry this email is so late. I was away on holiday, and just got bal yesterday! But in time for the game, so that's of course great, and very lucky!! It was so fantastic to be here, and to be able to watch Germany winning the World Cup!!! DEUTSCHLAANNDD!! J J

 

I apologise if you've received this email twice by the way. (I'm still trying to sort out my Outlook email contacts, after my laptop fiasco a while ago)…

 

Anyway, the details of our next meet-up are as follows:

 

Please note:

1.      It's a Friday evening, and not a Thursday as usual.

2.      It's at a different beer garden (not Hundskomödie), but still in Friedrichsau.

3.      We will start the softball game at the earlier time of 5pm. This is to allow more time to play, as some people have requested this. We will now have at least 2 hours, as opposed to just 90 minutes. Plus people can also play even longer, and past 7pm if they so wish. ;-) Perhaps remember to bring a change of clothes with you if you plan to play softball too. (As people who came last month know – it can be a very good idea!) However, please still remember to come – even if it looks like rain! ;-)

 

When: Friday 18^th July 2014

 

Softball – from 5pm - aprox. 7pm, at Friedrichsau Park, in Ulm… In a grassy area, next to the Festplatz (where they have Ulmer Zelt/the French village, etc)…

(People playing softball, will then join those at the restaurant, after the game has finished). Please see below for my mobile number, should you need to call me if you get lost.

 

Liederkranz Beer Garden – tables booked from 7pm, (for those who don't join the softball game) - also in Friedrichsau, Ulm:

Don't forget, you are also of course more than welcome to just come and watch the softball game if you like. (You don't have to play if you don't want to. Even though it is really good fun!) ;-) We have a fully qualified coach (George) there, plus other players who can also help you out with the rules if you've never played before. J

How are you? I hope you're all well and surviving this hot weather we're having?!… ;-)

 

Firstly, I have to say - I am so terribly sorry about sending this email out to you so late… Secondly, there is a very good reason for it! But to cut a very long story short, I had huge problems with my laptop last week! It crashed!... Just 5 days before I was trying to finish a very, very important piece of coursework – my final piece!!... I only had a few days left after that, to get the work sent in/uploaded online, ready for the deadline! – I have to say, I actually think that was perhaps one of the worst weeks of my life so far! … Then, during my laptop crashing, I lost all my programs – consequently Microsoft Office, and therefore, I also lost all of my Stammtisch email addresses (including those from my students as well)!.. I'm still in the process of trying to retrieve them at the moment though too, so this email is only getting sent out to address I still have access to! I very much hope I will be able to get all my contacts back again, as if not, it will be a rather big problem and also of course, a really great shame…

 

Anyway, the details of our next meet-up are as follows. (It's this Thursday though! So I'm so sorry if this is too short notice for you, and you already have plans. I really hope a good amount of people will still be able to make it!)… ;-)

 

For those who got my email last month, and/or came along, we will be doing exactly the same things as last month. So that's as follows:
