ouch - Thanks Classmates.com

A man brought a limp dog into the vet clinic. The doctor pulled out his stethoscope, placed it on the dog's chest, and said, "I'm sorry, but your dog has passed away."

"What?" screamed the man. "I want another opinion!"

With that, the doctor left the room and returned with a Labrador retriever who sniffed the limp dog and said, "Woof."

The veterinarian then brought in a cat, which walked around the dog, shook his head, and said, "Meow."

The veterinarian said, "There's nothing more I can do." He handed the man a bill for $600. The dog's owner became enraged and questioned the bill.

The doctor shook his head sadly and explained, "If you had taken my word for it, the cost would have been $50, but with the Lab work and the cat scan .."

On August 25th at 7 p.m. is a "regular" Stammtisch

Hi everyone Sorry I missed the baseball game last week. I guess there was a great turnout.

Let's meet on August 25th at 7 p.m. for a "regular" Stammtisch at Barfüsser in Neu Ulm. (Augsburger Str./ Paulstr. - right by the river) Hopefully we can enjoy some summer weather and sit outside - but if not - I've reserved a table inside. Next week we can say our goodbyes to Margaret Walker - our Kiwi in Schwaben. She's off to the UK soon.

Hope to see lots of you there. Dawn p.s. - the phone number at Barfüsser is 0731 974480 - in case you need it.

Awww, come on now

This is just going to be fule on the fire of all those "Koreans eating dog jokes"

From the New York Times: Beating Hurdles, Scientists Clone a Dog for a First By GINA KOLATA South Korean researchers are reporting that they have cloned what scientists deem the most difficult animal, the dog.

Review: Surprise Stammtisch at the Wilder Man

There was a "surprise" Stammtisch last night at the Wilder Man in Ulm, neither Willi nor I knew anything about it, but Lilian ruined it for Heather by telling us, thus allowing us to show up and crash the party anyways (lol)

Thanks due to Lilian.... OK nuff said.

It was really great, seeing as Willi and I were there (just kidding) and I believe in all respects for those that showed it was really good. I have never been to the Wilder Man, and was positively surprised at the crowd, and at the amazing laundry services that were offered (ask Willi) It was a refreshing and open group that ended up getting "thrown out" after 1:00 am. (and that on a weeknight - ouch)

Needles to say, those that went early enough had a good nights rest, those silly enough to stay to the end, had a great time, including thick heads today to prove it.

My request to Heather; next time just tell us, we can get there earlier, and probably wont stay so late.

A good stammtisch, and a great time!!!!

Gel?!? ;-))

Last Baseball English Stammtisch

Hey batter batter, Swing!

We start gathering around 6 but you can come when you finish work or that errand you have to do after work. (-:

The teams are best if we have 10 on each side. So please RSVP to let us know if you can definately make it, just watching, maybe or absolutely no.

Most important rules... 1) Have Fun! 2) When you hit the ball...RUN! 3) Never listen to the other team's instructions. 4) And Very important....HAVE FUN! (-:

One additional rule just to help... When the ball is hit, the runners on the base should run to the next one. Exceptions to the rule are if you do NOT have someone on the base behind you. (if you are on third and there is not a runner on second and there is only one out then you don't HAVE to run.)

There are 2 kinds of hits: Pop and grounder. A grounder goes on the ground and this is your que to RUN RUN RUN! A pop flies high in the air and the people in the field try to catch it. If it looks like the person might catch it, then this means you should take a few steps toward the next base, maybe even go half way but if it is caught then you must go back to the base you were on. If you don't go back then you will be out.

Hope I didn't confuse you with the above explaination and that you found it helpful.

You are under no obligation to play. We will retire to the drinking hole nearest the field after game time for some good banter.

Look forward to seeing everyone there. The more the merrier. Feel free to add people to this invite.
