English Stammtisch

Sent: Monday, June 20, 2005 5:19 PM Subject: English Stammtisch

Hi again everyone Are you enjoying the summer weather? There was a great turn out for baseball last week and we had time to talk at the Ulmer Zelt afterwards . It was nice to see Margret and Greg and Lana again.

Let's plan to play on June 30th in the Friedrichsau again. 18.00 at the field between the aquarium and the Danube. If you have to come later, that's fine.

Hope to see lots of you there. Dawn and Heather

At Mephisto, 6pm

At Mephisto, 6pm

Dear Frankie (2004) Nine-year-old Frankie and his single mum Lizzie have been on the move ever since Frankie can remember, most recently arriving in a seaside Scottish town. Wanting to protect her deaf son from the truth that they've run away from his father, Lizzie has invented a story that he is away at sea on the HMS Accra. Every few weeks, Lizzie writes Frankie a make-believe letter from his father, telling of his adventures in exotic lands. As Frankie tracks the ship's progress around the globe, he discovers that it is due to dock in his hometown. With the real HMS Accra arriving in only a fortnight, Lizzie must choose between telling Frankie the truth or finding the perfect stranger to play Frankie's father for just one day...

Hey batter batter, Swing!

Hi everyone Just in case the newcomers don't know Misti Holland yet - she sent out the Stammtisch invitation as an evite this time and is one of star baseball players. We usually play baseball for an hour or so and then go over to the Ulm tent or one of the beer gardens for English conversation. If you've never played baseball before - just come and try it out. Your coach will explain the rules, and as Misti wrote - it's just for fun. Here are the details once more, and please send in your response to the evite - and keep your fingers crossed that the weather is good next week Thursday. See you there - Misti, Heather and Dawn

Location: Friedrichsau Park-near the pond Close to the final streetcar stop. When: Thursday, June 16, 6:00pm Phone: 0172 479 8118

Hey batter batter, Swing!

Take out those bats, grab your glove and bring your balls....It's bbbbaaasssseeebbbballl time.

The teams are best if we have 10 on each side. So please RSVP to let us know if you can definately make it, just watching, maybe or absolutely no. Along with your response if you could tell us if you will bring a bat, ball, how many gloves and bases(George didn't you have these last year or was it Greg?) just so we can see if we have extras.

If we are lucky we will have Matt and George's expert coaching help again this year...What do you say guys?

Most important rules... 1) Have Fun! 2) When you hit the ball...RUN! 3) Never listen to the other team's instructions. 4) And Very important....HAVE FUN! (-:

You are under no obligation to play. And more than likely we will retire to the drinking hole nearest the field after game time for some good banter.

Look forward to seeing everyone there. The more the merrier. Sent by Misti, per Heather and Dawn's request.
